Welcome to Our New Home

Nestled in the heart of downtown Nantucket, The Nantucket Performing Arts Center (NPAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the performing arts on Nantucket. NPAC has acquired the theater property at 5 North Water Street and is transforming it into a year-round performing arts campus. NPAC will serve as a home for a resident Actors’ Equity theater company while supporting other cultural organizations, festivals, and artistic endeavors on the island. By fostering community engagement, artistic excellence, and economic growth, NPAC will enhance Nantucket’s vibrant cultural landscape. 

Our goal is to develop NPAC into a performing arts center campus that serves as a vibrant venue for diverse cultural offerings, strengthens community partnerships, and is a home for Nantucket’s rich arts scene. This center will be a versatile cultural space that caters to summer visitors, year-round Residents and the larger artistic community. We are committed to enhancing the island’s vibrant cultural scene, ensuring accessibility and engagement for all community members.

Our Mission

NPAC's mission is to enrich the cultural life of Nantucket by providing a dedicated venue for live performances, creative expression, and educational programming.

The center will serve as a collaborative hub for the island’s artistic community, helping ensure that Nantucket remains a premier destination for theater, music, dance, and other performing arts.

ACK Theatre Company

ACK Theatre Company is a resident theater company with a mission to be a center of new work, stage high quality productions through the summer and fall, and offer a unique blend of exceptional educational programming and shared experiences with professional actors.  ACK Theatre is a premier professional theater company, providing “see it here first” theatrical experiences through innovative new work and reimagined beloved plays with both established and emerging talent.  We also seek to support the theater world at large by offering off-season residencies to actors, directors, and playwrights to foster artistic talent and enrich the Nantucket year-round community.
